Torque Limiter

Features

• A torque limiter is a protective device. When shock loads, overload or a machine fault push the required torque above the set value, it slips to limit the torque transmitted by the drive, and re-engages automatically once the overload is removed, with no resetting needed. The TUNG SHIN torque limiter prevents machine damage and avoids costly downtime.

• The torque limiter uses spring-loaded friction faces; the spring force, and therefore the slip torque, is preset with the adjusting nut or bolts.

• A sprocket, gear, sheave or flange plate serves as the centre member, clamped between the friction faces. The rated performance of the TUNG SHIN torque limiter is dependable: spring load and surface pressure are matched for long slip life, and the unit re-engages at the preset torque, giving permanent protection. Unlike a shear-pin device, which must be replaced after one use, this torque limiter can be used again and again.
