Power Locks

A power lock is a keyless shaft-hub locking assembly: tightening its bolts forces tapered rings against the shaft and the hub bore, clamping sprockets, gears or pulleys by friction. There is no keyway to machine and no backlash, so it suits drives that reverse frequently, and it can carry thrust loads that a key cannot.

CHC offers self-centering types (SK, SB, SD, SDS, SES, SF high-torque), non-self-centering types (SA, SC) and the SSD clamping unit. Tables list shaft and hub diameters, transmissible torque and axial force, contact pressure and bolt tightening torque. Contact us with your shaft diameter and torque.
